Dede Bartlett is a career coach to thousands of college and graduate students around the country. Her lectures and classroom discussions and etiquette workshops are drawn from her impressive background as a senior officer with two Fortune 500 companies – Exxon Mobil and Altria – as well as the Chair of the Advisory Board of the National Domestic Violence Hotline, a Trustee and Visiting Fellow of the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation and a Director of A Better Chance.
Dede has appeared on more than 25 campuses and has engaged students, faculty and career development staff in classroom discussions, workshops and public lectures on subjects ranging from career development and strategy to business etiquette and ethics. Her talks are timely and reflect the latest economic and social conditions: she addresses critical career and worklife issues and provides practical information and strategic tips.
Dede’s corporate background is impressive: One of the highest ranking women in Corporate America, she was Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Altria/Philip Morris and also Vice President of Corporate Affairs Programs where she developed the company’s award-winning domestic violence awareness programs. At Mobil Corporation, she was Assistant to two Chief Executive Officers, Corporate Secretary and President of Mobil Foundation and Chair of the Board Contributions Committee where she directed the Company’s world-wide charitable giving programs.
In the non-profit world, Dede is a recognized authority on domestic violence issues. She received the Woman Who Makes A difference Award from the International Women’s Forum and has been honored by Lifetime Television, the National Center for Victims of Crime, the National Council of Jewish Women and the Center Against Domestic Violence. She is listed in Who's Who in America and Who's Who of American Women.
Dede is the Past President of the Women’s Forum of New York, a Director of the Corporate Alliance to End Partner Violence, a Member of Advisory Board of the Domestic Violence Crisis Center and Guru Nation, and a Trustee of the American University of Central Asia. She is an honors graduate of Vassar College and holds a master’s degree from New York University.
